Throughout the production lifecycle of Subaru vehicles, Subaru periodically implements design and specification updates to various components. For example, a Subaru Impreza WRX STI manufactured in August 2004 may incorporate a revised part compared to earlier models.
When such changes occur, the corresponding part number is updated to reflect the new specification for all subsequent production.
